For Free! P+ produced a special edition for het Conference 'Closing the Loop'.  The printed version of this Reader was sent to the head of the Eco- Innovation program, an EU program supporting innovations, in relation to Closed Loop systems. The Reader offers stories about the circulair economy that have been published in P+ Magazine before (mostly in Dutch), but also papers from the other organisations that organized the conference: Work on Progress, MVO Nederland and The Circular Economy. 

Hoogleraar Louise Vet heeft een belangrijke rol op de conferentie ‘Closing the Loop’. Ze is een van de sprekers tijdens de opening, maar daarna toont ze bovendien een driedimensionale versie van de circulaire economie: haar eigen nieuwe NIOO-hoofdkantoor in Wageningen.

Waarom komt de belangstelling voor de circulaire economie juist nu op? Ligt dat aan de stand van de technologie of zijn er andere factoren? Vragen die VPRO-programmamaker Rob van Hattum op de conferentie ‘Closing the Loop’ probeert te beantwoorden.

Wie een computer gebruikt, verliest tot 90 procent van de energie bij omzetting van stroom uit het stopcontact. De TU-student Emile Nijssen kan dit verlies met 30 procent terugbrengen. Hij kreeg als een van de winnaars van de ASN Bank Wereldprijs 2012 een bedrag van 10.000 euro om zijn efficiënte voeding op de markt te brengen.

Neem een bouwbedrijf met een omzet van 41 miljoen euro en 144 medewerkers. Bij verkoop zou het nu 1,4 miljoen euro waard zijn. Was dit bedrijf echter op en top MVO, dan zou het 1,8 miljoen moeten kosten. Dit blijkt uit een waardebepaling die MVO Nederland, CREM en BOBB hebben gemaakt.
